What a lovely setup, close to the M4 and easy to find. The hotel has lots of function space, as well as a spa, and lounge cafe...it was clearly busy, but did not feel crowded. The staff are lovely, especially in the restaurant where the catering staff created a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are clean and very well serviced and maintained. Nothing seems to much hassle for the team, and they just make you feel welcome and relaxed as soon as you arrive. The spa area is also a calm and relaxing space, though parts were under renovation during our visit it did not spoil the experience. This hotel is an unassuming gem, I would recommend, and will visit again.

Last-Minute Birthday Treat at a Hidden Gem in South East Wales We booked a mid-week Dinner, Bed & Breakfast with bubbles package at The Parkway Hotel & Spa for a last-minute birthday celebration, and it turned out to be fantastic value. For £170 for two, the package included: Deluxe double room Robes and spa access Bottle of bubbly £30 per person towards dinner Full Welsh breakfast Room The room was modern, spacious, and very comfortable. The bed was super comfy, the shower was hot and powerful (once we worked it out!), and robes were provided for the spa. Spa The spa featured a heated pool, sauna, and steam room, plus a lovely relaxation area. The jacuzzi was being refitted during our stay (which we knew in advance), and while we didn’t book treatments, they are available. Dinner The menu was small but well thought out, which I really liked. Starters were shared: Nduja Scotch egg Creamy forest mushrooms Both were full of flavour. Mains: Fillet steak with Béarnaise sauce – beautifully cooked, melted in the mouth Tagliatelle with mussels – cooked perfectly and a really unique dish We paired this with a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, which complemented the food perfectly. Service Staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay. The hotel has recently changed hands, and while some upgrades were underway, they didn’t impact our experience at all. Overall An excellent-value DBB package and a great choice for a relaxing getaway or celebration. A few small touches that would have made it exceptional: A small birthday gesture (card, note, or chocolates) Slippers to go with the robes Clearer instructions for the shower temperature Automatically providing a wine cooler when ordering wine Overall, a lovely stay and great value — we’d happily return.

This is a really lovely hotel. After receiving a warm welcome I found my room to be so comfortable and inviting and not clinical like the usual chains. The swimming pool was quite cold but a great size and there’s a gym, too. The club sandwich I ordered from room service was delicious although if you do order room service be sure to request ketchup, etc. as these aren’t included. Sustainability is important here so a real bonus to my stay - there’s water in the room filtered at the hotel and the self care products are very well thought out. Great tea tray and thoughtful lighting. I’ll definitely be back and I highly recommend this wonderful hotel.

I recently stayed at The Parkway in Cwmbran and found it to be a pleasant hotel with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout my visit, with Jane at reception standing out for her helpfulness and professionalism. The overall vibe is positive and the property has real potential. What works well Staff and service: Friendly, approachable team, especially at the front desk. This greatly enhances the guest experience. Atmosphere: A cozy, welcoming environment that makes you feel comfortable from arrival to departure. Value for a non-luxury stay: The hotel offers a pleasant base in Cwmbran with reasonable value for money given its location.

The rooms were nice albeit a bit dated. The pool is okay. Jacuzzi not working and not properly covered up. Massage was difficult to book during our three days there. We liked the restaurant and sat by the fireplace

The Parkway Spar Hotel, I can recommend we stayed for a two day mid week break. Room ground floor was very nice and comfortable. Breakfast provided was very good with adequate choices cooked breakfast and fruit buffet choice. There is also an offering of some specific items to ask for from the small table menu such as salmon scrambled eggs or porridge, kippers and eggs benedict. We used the lite bite options for the evenings which again gave a good variation off foods. The pool was warm and very nice we were informed in advance to the jacuzzi under maintenance. Overall experience was very good with all staff providing excellent service. Vists in local area were Tredegar House, worth a visit. Queen Inn pub restaurant locally also a great and highly recommended vegan restaurant.

Had a spa day with some girl friends. Carla and Jasmine were our therapists and gave us lush treatments! Carla, you melted away the tension for Kim! She couldnt compliment you enough. Jasmine you gave me such a lovely treatment too! Lovely caring hands you have!! - Only down side was that people were having spa lunches on pool side where the loungers where. This was a bit off putting after a nice massage to come out to the smell of a ploughmans! The hotel was lovely and had a selection of cakes/hot and cold drinks in the bar area which had lovely chilled vibes.

Lovely hotel. Had a great stay here and will definitely stay again if in the area. Staff were all wonderful and friendly. We had a garden suite and it was amazing, lovely great big room leading out to a patio area with wooden loungers and a fire pit. The facilities were great, the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were clean and tidy. We used them every chance we could. We Even book in for massages on the Sunday afternoon for a treat. There was only 2 issues we found (nothing major) the first was that breakfast wasn't very warm. The first 2 mornings it was barely warm but on our last day it was practically cold. Having said this the food was plentiful and tasty, also a very good selection. We didn't eat at the hotel other than breakfast so can't comment on any other food. The other issue was that the WiFi was a bit hit and miss in our suite but this was sorted by the evening of our second day. Would recommend this place to family and friends.
